The show was absolutely wonderful and the students LOVED it. The group was great and did an extra little set at the end. Absolutely worth the price and certainly a big hit to start Senior Week off right.

The Second City have become a staple in our calendar. They sell out every year and our patrons love the talent they bring. Their ability to change the show every year makes them a no brainer for our venue.

Loras College - Dubuque, IA

The audience loved it and was engaged the entire time.  I've heard a ton of great feedback from the student body as have the professors that I've spoken to about the event.  I would absolutely love to have them back again.  We had over 400 people attend the show which is a HUGE success for our campus.  We really enjoyed the show and it has given comedy a good reputation around campus.  The cast did a fabulous job!

University

CA University of Pennsylvania - CA, Pennsylvania

The cast was great to work with and were very personable with the students.  The entire lower bowl of the theatre was filled. The students that attended the event loved the show and have already asked the programming board to bring the show back in the future. As a programming board, we would most definitely look at bringing back the program in the future and would also recommend the program to other schools.  Thank you for making this program and process of advancing the show so easy.

University

Austin Theatre Alliance - Austin, TX

Everyone loved the show and the production team thought the cast was a dream.  Plus, financially the show was a success.  Looking forward to having everyone back again next year!

The shows went really well; They got a standing ovation each night.  This was the best cast we've ever had.  The actors were first-class and the response was great.  We want to have them back next year.

Second City was wonderful!!   I think we successfully reached a younger crowd than usual and they loved it.  On the back end, everyone in the company was very professional and easy to work with--a real treat for us, and makes me want to book them again, for sure.

University of Notre Dame - Notre Dame, IN

Everything went great... We even had some walk-ups, which has been rare of late. The Meet and Greet at Bluebird Books got things off to a good start. The workshop went very smoothly and I know all the participants had a great time. And the show also was well received that evening. We had over 600 paid on a night when there were several other events going on in the community and elsewhere. I was pleased with the turnout and especially happy to see some younger guests in attendance who haven't been regular patrons of the theatre for some of our other series programs.
The cast was very easy to work with, gracious and appreciative, and as you are no doubt aware, that always makes the experience so much more enjoyable for our staff, crew and volunteer workers. And I heard many positive comments from audience members as they were leaving afterward.
I would absolutely recommend the show to others, and we would be happy to have them back at some point in the future.

Performing Arts

Heritage Center at The University of Dubuque - Dubuque, IA

The Second City performance was awesome! I laughed so hard, I cried. The stage manager and the cast were super easy to work with. We were definitely pleased with ticket sales. The Executive Director said that The Second City performance has sold the most tickets out of any performance that has been at that venue to date.
I would definitely recommend The Second City to others and want to bring them back in the future.
Thank you for your help in bringing The Second City to Dubuque! It was truly an amazing event!

Performing Arts

For over 55 years, The Second City has been the leader in teaching students of all ages and from all walks of life the skills of improvisation, comedy writing and performing. The classes are dedicated to helping students develop their artistic voice, both individually and within an ensemble, and to providing the tools and techniques needed to express that voice.

Workshops as well as Educational Programs and Residencies are offered. Workshops include a Beginning/Kids Workshop, focusing on teaching students the building blocks of improvisation, an Improv for Actors Workshop, focusing on teaching students scenic improvisation, and The Master Class Workshops, which instruct others about the art of comedic improvisation. The Second City is also happy to work on an extended basis in communities in a residency-type program that is custom-made for your educational needs.
