iO Theater-Whirled News Tonight

After decades of providing groundbreaking, star-making, world-class improvisational comedy, the legendary iO Theater is set for another exciting year on the road.

The iO Theater is the world-famous flashpoint of comic creativity that spawned an entire generation of America’s best and brightest entertainers, including alumni such as Mike Myers, Chris Farley, Vince Vaughn, Amy Poehler, Neil Flynn, Adam McKay, Rachel Dratch and many more.

In Whirled News Tonight, audience members provide the inspiration for an evening of improvised comedy by clipping articles from local and national newspapers and periodicals. From these journalistic suggestions, a team of experienced improvisers creates a fast-paced, topical, intelligent and, above all, hilarious show. Equal parts political satire, news parody and social commentary, Whirled News Tonight is improvisation for the Wall Street Journal set--a production just as sure to spark debate as it is to tickle the funny bone.

*Interactive pre-show engages the audience

*One part Capitol Hill, two parts Benny Hill

*Easily relatable topical material

*Minimal technical requirements
